Supported Housing - Putting You in the Picture

Stephen - Success Story
In the shop where I work, I do whatever I can to help. It keeps me busy and there are always people coming in.?I live in a house which I share with four others. I like working and being with other people.

Steven lives with four other service users in one of Lifestyles supported houses. They all receive different levels of support in accordance with their support plans which are specific to them and which they help draw up. Over a period of time the support they receive has varied in accordance with their needs. Flexibility in the delivery of support is really important - and by agreeing with them what help they need and how this can be provided, we're enabling people to achieve their own ambitions and goals.

Graham - Success Story
I’m OK with most things but I do need help with forms and dealing with money. But I don’t always like to ask for help - unless I know the person - and I don’t like to keep asking my family. I want to be independent.

Graham has tried several times to live on his own but each time it has failed. We support Graham with his benefits, correspondence and managing his money, so that he doesn't get into debt. He's now managing to live on his own and does not need so much support as he used to have. He's his own person now and feels happy to ask for help when he needs it, and in a way he wants.
